Common Computer Issue

Just about every day either at work or home, it appears that some people are having problem with their computer system from either setting it up to troubleshooting which would be pretty simple to do by a experience computer literate person. I know people who have problem figuring out how to at least power the system up. People like me that know a lot about computer couldn’t figure out why people have so much problem operating a computer system, but then I realized that a lot of people do need help with their system. I’m going to explain to you some common things that you should at least know about your computer system.

Every wonder what actually occur as soon as you press the power button on your computer. Okay here it goes. When you press the power button, the computer initiate program called Power-On Self Test (POST). Its mission is to check the basic component in your computer system like hard drive, video card, keyboard, mouse, etc. If everything is all well, then the computer system will go into the next boot stage which is, the Boot Process. You can customize whether or not you would like your system to boot up to the CD drive, hard drives, Memory Stick. I recommend that you leave it at the default setting which is boot up to the hard drive. The computer basically is looking for a Windows Operating System.

Some system automatic boot up to the primary hard drive anyway. When your system finds a operating system it continue to open that operating that system and you will see the Window Logo and after other applications will be loaded.

When you purchase a computer system you need to ensure that you have some sort of antivirus software on it. I recommend either Norton or McAfee. You want antivirus software that gives you total system protection against viruses, hackers, phishing, etc. You want to do this before you either get on the internet or install programs on your computer. By doing this, you minimize the chances of getting an unwanted guess lurking inside your computer.

If you have a question about a computer, Please Leave a comment.

Your Favorite Food Become Your Worst Nitemare

Have you ever had a favorite food when you was young and later stop eaten it? Well it happen to me. I remember I was in elementary school and my favorite dish was liver. I really loved liver so much. I made liver sandwiches and hoping that my parents would buy it every day so I can sneak into the refrigerator and make a sandwich. I was taking a science class in elementary school and my teacher was showing us by slide presentation the different parts of a human being and they identify the liver in a human body and it made me sick in my stomach.

When I got home, I ask my parent if we really had a liver in our body, and they said that we all do. From that point, my love for liver was over. I would not ever eat liver because now that I know that we all have a liver inside our bodies, I think its quite gross to eat.

It’s funny that I started out loving a certain food and to cut off my love for it like a person switching a light switch to the off position.

Have this ever happen to you or Do you have a similar story?

Follow Your Heart

We all make choices and hoping that the choices you made keep you on your career path. One cannot predict what going to happen tomorrow, but you can greatly increase the chances that you are still on the right path by listening to your heart. There was a saying ole saying that if you have to think too hard about anything that will somehow affect your life, then you risk the chance choosing the wrong path. We know within whether or not we are making the right choice. We need to believe in ourselves and trust our heart, because your heart will never stray you from the truth.

Instead of doubting yourself and your abilities, you have to stand up and say to yourself "YES I CAN" and by doing so boost your adrenaline and give you the confident necessary to a successful goal. Some of us are so fast to give up dreams because someone they know might had told them that they are not going to reach their goal. If someone had ever told you this then let them say whatever they want because what they want to do is to get into a pissing contest (Argument) with you. That is nothing but a distraction on you our life that we can't afford to pay attention to.

Think of it as a test in your faith. Their no need to belittle yourself. If someone tells you that you not going to do this or you not going to that, then you can use that as your strength to show them that anything possible if you put your mind into it. My advice to you all is to always stay positive no matter what situation arises. Let me add that sometime other people comment with actually help you. You will just have to make that determination yourself by following your heart.

Soldiers Excuses

Its' funny to hear the same old excuses over and over again in the military. I was once a Private in the U.S. Army and our first formation is at 0630 and there are several times when I use the same excuses that younger soldiers now are still using when they are late for work. I called it, “THE ALARM CLOCK ORDEAL". The excuses that soldiers use when they are late for formations are as follows:

o My alarm clock battery died was the reason why they were late.
o The power went out (This person should of had an battery in his alarm clock)
o Wife was mad and reset the alarm clock to a different time (ISSUES RIGHT!!!!)
o I had set the alarm clock to at 4:30am but it never went off (Liar!!!!)

Other Excuses are as Follows:

o Wife had kept me up all night yelling at me
o Wife was blocking the door preventing me to leave for work
o Wife lost my car keys
o My car wouldn't crank up because my battery is dead
o I forgot my Military ID card at home.
o There was an accident on the road and I was helping them out
o Oh let's not forget "I had a HANGOVER FROM PARTYING LAST NIGHT” ( this soldier
Is an idiot)

There are alot more excuses than this. The surprising thing is that you will actually hear excuses that you use when you were young soldiers. I sitting on over 18 years of Military Service, and still, I hear the same excuses over and over again. If you don't believe it, then stay in this long in the Army and you will hear it.

GHETTO PIZZA

This is funny. While I living in the projects in Newark, New Jersey what some people call it, “The GHETTO”. This was back in the 1980’s, me and my brother and sister one day was thinking about what to make for a snack. Now keep in mind, we was all kids obviously. We look in the refrigerant and see very little food in there but we did see some items in there like cheese, bread, and tomatoes paste. There was more stuff in the frig but these items kind of caught our eyes. We had an idea to create a pizza, but it wasn’t going to be like any other pizza. We had called it “GHETTO PIZZA” because we created it in the Ghetto. Now if you are interested in making this, hear is the recipe. What we use was First, 1 slice of bread, Second, and then we open the tomatoes paste and spread it on the bread until you cover the bread, Third, after you put a slice of cheese on top of the bread. Fourth, you again spread tomatoes paste all over this it until the cheese is mostly cover. Fifth, you add whatever seasoning you would like to add. Lastly, You then put it in the microwave for about 15 to 20 second or until the cheese is melted alittle. When done, dig in and eat it. It’s something quick and very easy to make. Whosever try it let me know how you like it. Thanks

Reality Hits

Why some people do things that they didn't really want to do? Why some people react to negative comments about themselves or anyone else? I can go on forever with questions about this but the question that we all should be asking is "ARE WE SUPPOSE TO DO THAT OR NOT". This may seen alittle biblical but I believe that things happen for a reason. We do things for reasons that is obviously higher than anyone here on this planet. Have you ever done something and later said to you later, "Why On earth did I do that". Let me try to expand it to you. We were all created in the image of what the lord wanted us to be. So no matter what our race is, we are all brothers and sisters. Alot of people don't want to admit it but it’s true. We are all related to each other. I believe that we have a mission in this world and whenever we had completed our mission that the lord will call for you to come home. I think that is the reason why you hear stories on people having close calls to death. It wasn't their time to go. God still have a mission for them to complete. The lord does give you choice to either follow His Word or the Satan Word. It’s unfortunate that we hear people died in natural disaster or natural causes. But if you think about it was their time to go, the Lord is calling for them and they will either be in Heaven or Hell. Things happen for a reason that the lord can only answer. It can even be a warning like speeding down the highway and you happen to get pull over by the state patrol or you are taking a certain route either by walking, running or driving. We all get put in situation to get us to think more on our action. The lord is always there for his children(s). The lord emplaces thorns in all of us. The reason why is well let me first explain to you all what is a thorn on the biblical side. In a nutshell, I thorn is obstacle and/or barrier in our life that the Lord had emplace onto us to keep you to always needing him. When one thorn is corrected and completed, he give us another thorn to work on and it can be something you deal with everyday or something uncommon that you a never experience before. We all get put in situation to challenge our faith with the Lord. I was at church on Sunday and the minister mention about people who basically said that they are a Christian and have scriptures of the bible that they quote out of but that they are only holy and praise the lord on Sunday and Sin for the rest of the week but Sunday. We can't be doing that. If you going to believe in the Lord, then you need to follow His Words and stop playing with the word of the Lord. So in summary we must lived our life the way the Lord would like us to live.

Taking It for Granted

We in the United States take alot of things for granted. what I mean is as I was over in the Philippines visiting family member just recently, I notice that the people there do things differently from us. For Instance, we take for granted of having water available for us 24 hrs a day 7 days a week nonstop. We also have the option of using either hot or cold water. Well, over there, that isn't an option. You have only cold water and the water comes on a couple of hours a day and sometime it don't even come on for about 2 days. When it does comes on, Its basically comes out as slow drips. What I notice is that they would have to leave their faucet "On" all day so whenever the water does comes "On", it will be use to fill large water buckets. Water are use to wash the dishes and laundry, manually flush the toilet and of course bathed. So we as American need to be thankful of what we have because people in other countries does not on have that and other things available to them. I also like to mention that there are some hardworkers over in the philippines, because they make use of what they have. One of the things that surprise me while I was over there is that I seen large and overstack log truck and I obviously thought that they use tractor trucks for load it, but that is not the case. They was loading the logs by hand stacking it pretty high and then several workers sits on top of it while the log truck is motion. That was pretty amazing and I have NEVER seen that here in the United States. I have great respect for them and their hard work.

My Overseas Experience

I had recently returned from a 3 weeks vacation in the Philippines and I must say that it was a good experience for me learn more about the filipino culture. For instance, I seen alot of things that we can't obviously can't get away with in the United States like 6 people riding on back of a motorcycle with one person holding a small baby with no helmet and speeding down the road. I mention that if someone would do that here, they all would be jailed, fined and the small baby will be in foster care. I remember the first time I was going to take a bath/shower over a family member house, I look in the bathroom and notice that their was no bathtub. The only thing I seen is a several tall plastic can full of water with a large scoop and I was stun on how on earth do I wash myself and I figure it out a half of minute later. I had to scoop water from the can and pour it on me, rub soap/shampoo on my body and do the process again. I let me add that the water was Really cold. There is no hot water there so every time I pour the cold water on me, I had to bold up and take the cold water being pour on me. This was definitely a experience for me.

Military Life

When I first join the Army back in May 1989, My goal was to "BE ALL I CAN BE" in the military. I attended basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia. After Basic Training, I was stationed at Schofield Barrack, Hawaii. I had a pretty good experience there learning about my job as an infantryman and was it take to make it in the Army. I remember the very first field training I did was when we deployed to Japan for "Orient Shield" for about a month. That was my first experience working side by side with foreign soldiers. I remember one time there when we had just finished setting a stik lanes near a hill and the Japanese soldiers was suppose to pick us up but they must had been a miscommunication and we ended up walking back to camp there. Later, we was conducting WarGame with the Japanese Army. and we was defending a particular objective with triple strand concertina wire all around it with M1 Abram Tanks staged dugged in on all corner of our objective. We was on guard all night long and the only word we was told earlier that day was that they can attack anytime. Here was they did. I didn't attack all morning and all night that day but at first light at about 5am, I spotted movement from our front but it was quite a long ways away. Now the area they we was expecting them to come from was a pretty big open field from left to right. Anyway, I about 10 to 15 minute later we spotted some more movement from my front movement slow. I remember when 5:45am came we can see a whole fleet of tanks coming toward our objective and we also had helcopter gunships and soldiers breaching our wire from the rear destroying several of our tanks and over running our objective. We manage to establish a stronghold inside our objective and call in Artillery on all around our objective and call in reinforement. I'm not going to tell you who won but it was a good Wargame the Japanese Army must had send all there tanks on our objective. There was ALOT of Japanese tanks to our front and firing on our position. We all had had fun and at the same time learning.
